Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes which included the Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The accomplished actress started her career in acting by performing on stage, by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. In her early years, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th year show. She was born deaf in the one ear due to the mumps virus, however she did not allow this handicap to hinder her desire to be an actress. In her early years, she was a drama student in the college level and then moved from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could achieve her goals. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut due to an unplanned encounter and Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. Her first role in film came after she relocated to Los Angeles. Since she was a part of the film she has appeared featured in a variety of television movies and series. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
